Ingredients:
4 cups cooked yellow split peas
1 medium bottle gourd, peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes
1 small onion, sliced
1 small green chili pepper
1 tablespoon turmeric powder
1 tablespoon coriander powder
1 tablespoon cumin powder
2 tablespoon coconut oil
1 teaspoon garam masala
salt to taste
Steps:
Saute onion in coconut oil on high till translucent. Add the bottle gourd and salt. Cook till it sarts getting translucent, stirring all the time. Add the spices, cook for a minute or two. Add the cooked split peas and some watter. Mix, cover and cook for about 5 minutes. Serve hot with rice or bread.
Notes:
You can substitute the bottle gourd with any gourd of pumpkin, just adjust the cooking time.
